Some people keep asking me to do a more thorough guide to macroing.
Let's start with the basics:
Is it really possible to macro in Eternal Lands?The answer is YOU BET!
It was much, much easier in the past. The annoying harvesting events, the changing camera angles upon entering new maps, a 24/7 watching Big Brother have all been implemented to prevent people from macroing.
However, if you're swift enough and spend some time doing your homework, there's almost nothing you can't macro.
How to start macroing?The easiest skill to macro is manufacturing/mixing. The reason is that your screen is fixed while you're manuing. Once upon a time, it was necessary to click every single time you wanted to mix anything. Can you imagine having to click-mix thru any 1000 FE's batch you were doing? That was a pain in the ass.
Thus, for the simplest macroing you can use the simplest software to get started into macroing. Autoclick is a good program for such a repetitive task as mixing. You can download it here.
The next simplest skill to macro is harvesting. However we got 2 problems:- There are spots full of people
- There are the harvesting events.
** For example, a paramenter would be COLOR. Got it???
What about something like fighting? Some macroing software can detect images (example) or, once again, colors. Now go to your favourite spawn and let your macroing program look for that naughty rabbit and kill it for you.FINAL TIPS:
Macroing software follows pretty much the same working pattern, but some are more sofisticated than others. If your macroing is based on time intervals, try to simulate with your macro what you would do with your hand. Does your hand click 1000 times a second? Then don't do that with a macro. Does your manual clicking happen at an exact interval of 2 seconds? Then be a little creative with your intervals. The map is your friend. BUT if you mapwalk... Please don't go to the same coordinates time and time again. Keep an eye once in a while while you macro. Interact with some people once in a while. Don't keep your character working on something 24 hours straight and so on... That is, you can always get caught, but don't make it easy. Don't underestimate mods: They are banning-lovers. If they get you doing the same thing all the time, going to the flower shop in PL to sell 2 blue lupines after a harvesting event... Summarizing, if you do absurd things you will get caught and readily banned.------

If you're gonna comment something like...
allow me to happily ROTFLMAO... Ah! If those who have macroed successfully for years would come into light, the list would be longer than you think.
NOTE: If you're gonna comment, do it anon, or simply don't use your ingame's nick (unless you're gonna bash this site or me in the comments... then you can use your nick, to show your fidelity to "Teh God").
On a side note, I'm having a lot of job, guys... The one that helps pay your bills. This page will come back in full force somewhere in the summer. In the meantime, there are many nice sites where you can find cheats, secrets, and much more for Eternal Lands. Google is your friend.

Macroing consists, basically, on having your computer doing things for you.
I use Autohotkey to mine silver while i am doing homework. the only problem is it doesnt record when to click it always sets
sleep, 100
then i need to manuly update it (sleep, 1000 = 1 second of doing nothing) but once it is done it pays off
So I'm trying to get my macro to read and act accordingly to harvesting events. The problem is, is that when I use imagesearch on autohotkey to find the "You stopped harvesting" line, it doesn't work most of the time. My guess is the colors in the line itself differ and it screws up my search.
If anyone else has been doing this, how have you been getting around it?
If you tail|grep through the chat_log.txt, you will easily find the server messages.
Okay... Guys, you're the ones that completely ruin all the game fun. The goal is to PLAY the game, not to WIN it and I hope all you macroing gyus will be sometime banned ONCE AND FOR ALL.
It is easy to macro on Linux using xautomation: http://hoopajoo.net/projects/xautomation.html I've successfully macro-ed gold harvesting and mixing without getting caught.
What's good is that when you use xautomation commands within a script, you can add random delays which makes it impossible to detect macroing. Really great stuff.
Macroing is the most fun part in EL ... I successfully used a macro script to harvest roses in VoTD and sell to the shop. I made some 40k gc in a week. Nice to leave the pc on and go to watch tv ... the money keeps flowing and I play just for fun now, not for boring stuff. I will soon make a macro for silver and sulphur harvesting. Hail to all macroers in EL.

To the site owner: Hey I'm making a macro program but it uses network commands, so you don't even need to have EL open. It works in the same way that legit bots work. Im interested it in having it posted here, is there an IM account I can contact you or something?
